The purpose of the Texas Sporting Clays Association (TSCA) is the governance, encouragement, and promotion of organized sporting clays shooting among residents of the State of Texas.

The National Skeet Shooting Association (NSSA) and the National Sporting Clays Association (NSCA) are the official governing and sanctioning bodies for their sports. The NSSA was founded in 1928 and is a nonprofit organization owned and operated by its members. It is the world’s largest skeet shooting organization and annually hosts the World Skeet Championships. NSCA was founded in 1989 as a division of NSSA, and it is now the world’s largest sporting clays organization. It annually hosts members from all 50 states and many foreign countries at the National Sporting Clays Championship.
The Amateur Trapshooting Association (ATA) serves as the faithful protector of the sport of trapshooting. As the largest clay target shooting organization in the world, the ATA governs the sport’s rules and regulations and seeks ways to further enhance the sport and increase participation.
Spurred by Amateur Sports Act of 1978, the National Rifle Association of America became the National Governing Body for the shooting sports, and established the National Team, National Development Team, a coaching staff, and full-time staff to manage team operations. In the mid-eighties the Olympic Shooting Center and the Olympic Shooting Park were established in Colorado Springs to serve as the primary training sites and headquarters for the U.S. Shooting Team.
In April 1995, USA Shooting was formed and became the National Governing Body for the international shooting sports in the United States.
“Registered” events are sanctioned by the ATA. ATA registration forms are available at all registered shoots. Allow some extra time to complete the forms, which can be done in the registration process at your first shoot. Forms are also available online at www.shootata.org.
The Scholastic Clay Target Program provides student athletes aged elementary through college with a supportive environment where shooting sports serve as catalysts for teaching life lessons and skills that emphasize positive character traits and citizenship values. The South Texas Competitive Shooting Team is the only team in South Texas that participates in SCTP, they practice Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The shoot all disciplines (trap, skeet, 5-stand, sporting clays, Whiz-bang, trap doubles, and skeet doubles.) The team travels monthly to inperson tournaments in San Antonio. Their Regional Tournaments are held in Waco, their state tournament in San Antonio, and their National tournament in Marengo, Ohio in July.
The MidwayUSA Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity working to sustain and grow youth shooting sports by providing long-term funding to youth shooting teams through annual cash grants. Every donation made is tax-deductible and allows the Foundation to assist in expanding and enhancing the leadership skills, confidence, and discipline of today’s youth through shooting sports activities.

The USA High School Clay Target League is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation and the independent provider of shooting sports as an extracurricular co-ed activity to high schools for students in grades six through twelve who have their firearms safety certification. About Texas 4-H
Texas 4-H is a club for kids and teens ages 8-18 in grades 3-12. As the largest youth development program in Texas, reaching more than 550,000 youth each year, no matter where you live or what you like to do, Texas 4-H has something that lets you be a better you! You may think 4-H is only for your friends with animals, but it’s so much more! You can participate in shooting sports as an example. The family owned and operated Riverside Club Bar& Grill and Special Event center has been a popular gathering place for over 30 years for locals, tourists, bird watchers and nature lovers who bring their friends, their cameras and their zest for enjoying the food life along the Rio Grande.
Tom Landry Stadium is named after Tom Landry, one of the greatest head coaches of all time. He was the first head Coach for the Dallas Cowboys, a position he held for 29 seasons. He was born in Mission, Texas, and played for Mission High School.
Tom Landry Stadium is now the only high school football field in the country outside of Canton, Ohio (home of the Pro Football Hall of Fame) to have permission to use the official Hall of Fame logo as a part of its playing field. If you’re in town this is a must-see football field.
To honor Tom Landry’s legacy in 1993, Mission residents Bill and Gen Long commissioned Manuel Hinojosa to create the Tom Landry Mural. The mural measures 95 x 18 feet and was dedicated on September 18, 1995, by legendary Coach Tom Landry himself. When you’re in town for a shoot drive North on Conway to 100 East Tom Landry Street to see the mural.
